A Conversation with Silence

It was as if there was no life around

Surrounded by the dead, the stagnant, the transient

All around me was Silence

And it spoke!

Peace and Permanence

Belonging and Beauty

Love and Life, are within you

Listen to it, It said.

I listen only to you

Your language I hardly understand

And in you I hear only the emptiness

Only the facade of everything present.

Not with the mind, my dear, but

With the soul, Listen to its divination

Seek its permanence and joyful eternity is yours

The Silence says.

I listen to the howl of breeze and smell its scent

The door bell rings and I have my companion

I see Silence leave, perhaps leaving the apparent civilization

Only to return.

May be to engulf the transient in Him.

This is typical Surabhi kind! Love the poem :-) Especially for its strong musing of internal and external search!
