A Life So Changed

A Life So Changed
(written after I visited a monastery)

A Life so changed
By the coming of spring
Unexpected it was
Took me by a wave
I let it
Let it caress me
Let it engulf me
Oh! how late I was to realise
That I wasn't
I was left in the sea
Untouched, Unblemished
The vastness surrounded me
Alone, all alone yet, I
Wanting to be engulfed
Stood watching
The wave receed
The spring receed
But the change refused to change.
